Council of the EU progress report on ePrivacy Regulation

The Presidency of the Council of the European Union released a progress report on the proposed ePrivacy Regulation.

The Report comes to the conclusion that further work could not continue on the basis of the existing text and that substantial changes in the proposal were necessary.

The Report revelas that it was clear from the first Member States’ reactions, as outlined in the previous paragraph, that further work would be needed on the file. The Croatian Presidency is therefore committed to work closely with the incoming German Presidency in June to facilitate further discussions and to ensure smooth progress on the file.
